SBYRC announces the re-establishment of our long dormant Junior Membership Program will be run by Karen Guccione, SBYRC’s (reluctant) Junior Membership Facilitator. SBYRC does not plan to run a formal Junior Program, or interfere with any existing program in MDR. SBYRC’s Junior Membership Program will focus on three specific areas. The first is to help our younger members with guidance and financial assistance in their sailing careers. The second is to expose young racers to top notch racers such as Dave Voss. Dave has always generously invited young racers to join his team on an actual race day. The third area is to expose interested young people with special needs to sailing. Karen has over 30 years experience working with special needs children; she is uniquely qualified to assist in this area. Peter Isler, in an effort to support our new Junior Membership Program, will launch our first fund raiser for this new program by donating his time in presenting an advanced racing tactics seminar on January 6th, just prior to SBYRC’s Champagne Series.
