Press Release: Peter Isler to Train Yacht Racers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - WORLD RENOWNED SAILOR, PETER ISLER TO TRAIN YACHT RACERS
South Bay Yacht Racing Club presents the internationally renowned sailor, motivational speaker and author Peter Isler, who will be sharing racing tactics with yacht racers in Marina Del Rey!
The event is hosted by Santa Monica Windjammers Yacht Club, 13589 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey, CA 90292, this coming January 6th at 7pm.
Peter Isler has been inextricable from the America's Cup since winning it as navigator aboard Dennis Conner's Stars & Stripes in Australia in 1987. In the 2007 Cup in Valencia, Spain he sailed in his fifth Cup campaign with the BMW Oracle Racing Team. His four previous campaigns were all in the afterguard aboard Stars & Stripes ('87, '88, '00 & '03) winning it twice ('87 & '88). He took a break from sailing and appeared as an analyst for ESPN's Emmy Award winning coverage of the America's Cup in '92 & '95. For the '03 and '07 Cups, Peter both sailed and conducted televised announcements (in 2003 with Outdoor Life Network and in 2007 with VERSUS Network). A former Collegiate Sailor of the Year at Yale University, Isler resides in Southern California. He co-authored the best-selling book, Sailing for Dummies (Wiley) and wrote the acclaimed business book, At the Helm: Business Lessons for Navigating Rough Waters (Doubleday) with Peter Economy.
